Misti Kai Gwynne - Director of Music

Misti Kai serves as Director of Music at Steele Creek.  She oversees all aspects of music, particularly the fine arts that support the worship services.  Recently receiving her Bachelor of Music degree, summa cum laude, in Piano Performance from Queens University of Charlotte, she also studied organ, choral conducting and voice.  Misti Kai has served in music ministry for almost thirty years and loves all genres of music from classical to contemporary.  She has a passion for working with all generations: preschool, children, youth, adults, and senior adults.

Misti Kai is happily married to her childhood beau David.  They have four wonderful children.  Their youngest, Wesley, is in high school.  Eleanor, Peter, and Arthur all are fulltime students at various colleges.

Misti Kai is blessed to serve God.  She is charged with the awesome responsibility of enabling the congregation to actively and fully participate in worship through music.  Let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord!  (Psalm 100:1)

Linda Clark - Administrative Assistant

Linda has been with the church since 2005.  Previously she worked for The Synod of New York and The Synod of the Northeast after New York, New England and New Jersey merged.

Linda is responsible for all record keeping, the newsletter, the weekly bulletins, the church calendar, events such as weddings, activities, meetings and any other administrative duties that cross her desk.

Linda has one daughter who lives and works in Charlotte.  Her hobbies include reading, crocheting, and she recently experienced kayaking for the first time.

Phyllis Osborne - Housekeeper

Phyllis has worked for Steele Creek since 1995.  As her title describes, she keeps our

facilities clean -  offices, small kitchen, all rooms (except our daycare facilities), bathrooms,

sanctuary, chapel, etc.  She is also responsible for maintaining supplies, preparing the communion sets and polishing collection plates, setting up facilities and assures supplies are ready for any special meeting or activity taking place.

Phyllis lives in Stanley, NC with her husband, Richard, and adopted son, Ashton.  Married for over 30 years, they have one daughter and one grandson.
