A native of
Charlotte, NC,
Dr. W. Jeff Pinkston is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High
School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech
Communications at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in
1982. In 1987, Jeff earned his Doctorate of Ministry from
Union Theological Seminary.
Dr. Pinkston has served as the
installed pastor of two churches before becoming to Steele Creek.
In his former position, he helped three congregations merge into one
while leading them through innovative worship services, inspiring
Bible studies, and both local and international mission activities.
Jeff is married to his high school sweetheart, Miriam. They
have four children who are 21 years old...that's right, quadruplets!
Caroline is a junior at UNC-CH, while sons Joshua, James, and Adam
all attend UNCC.
Jeff believes that God has blessed him with a unique ability to
preach and teach His Holy Word. He sought a community of the faithful
where he can share these gifts "equipping the saints for work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Eph 4:12) He
wants to lead Steele Creek as we cling to the faithful proclamation of
God's Word, while at the same time, seek new and innovative ways to
share that Word with the unchurched.
